TRADITIONAL CAMP
  • KINDER CAMP (Ages 3.6 – 6) Children must be three years, six months by June 1, 2014. Kinder Camp introduces young children to summer day camp. They have the same fun as the big kids, but they stay closer to home, keep shorter hours and have relaxing time built into their schedule. Classroom activities are organized in one-to-two week themes designed by the head counselors.

For more information, please contact the Early Childhood office at (212) 912-2652, (212) 912-2650 or email scussen@ymcanyc.org or jolavarria@ymcanyc.org.

  • DAY CAMP (Ages 5.5 – 11) Traditional Day Campers will engage in various age appropriate activities that will enhance their social and emotional skills, help keep their academics in check, keep them physically active and challenge them to learn new things every day. They will have the opportunity to meet new friends and take exiting trips throughout New York City. Campers will participate in a wide range of sports, instructional swimming, arts and crafts, weekly themed days, environmental science and more.

arts camps

ARTS CAMPS

  • ARTS CAMP (Ages 7 - 12) Perfect for kids who love an audience or creative types looking to build self-confidence and express themselves in new ways.  Each age-range is grouped into an ensemble and together they take classes in dance, drama, vocal music, and visual arts.  The summer is divided into four sessions and every two week session has a theme like “Arts Around the World,” “Classics Remixed,” or “Broadway & Vaudeville.”  The themes inform the curriculum focus of each art form so campers are learning different styles and techniques all summer long.  At the end of weeks 2, 4, 6 and 7 all the ensembles perform a showcase (you’re invited!) for family and friends in our Off-Broadway theater adding to their experience the lights, sound, and production elements of putting on a show. In addition to classes, arts campers swim in our indoor pool twice a week, go on arts-related field trips around NYC, and head over daily to nearby Central Park for lunch, fresh air, and activities.

For more information about Arts camp please call the Youth & Family office at 212-912-2667 or the Arts Department at 212-912-2634.
