Day Camp at Prospect Park/Park Slope Armory YMCAs

YMCA CAMP. WHERE KIDS GO TO GROW.

We offer a variety day camp programs for youth. Camp operates out of the Park Slope Armory YMCA, located at 361 15th Street and PS 10, located at 511 7th Avenue.

All campers must pre-register to attend camp by completing camp forms and paying a deposit for each week of camp.

TRADITIONAL CAMP (Ages 4-11)

  • HALF DAY KINDERCAMP (Age 4) This camp will run from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. week days and includes art, story time, physical fitness, and instructional swimming one day per week. Offered sessions 1, 2 and 3.
  • FULL DAY KINDERCAMP (Age 4.5-5) For children entering kindergarten in September 2013, this camp  provides instructional swimming, trips, indoor & outdoor group play activities and arts & crafts that focus on enhancing social skills.
  • EXPRESS CAMP (Ages 6-8) Campers participate in arts & crafts, group games, sports, health & fitness, character development activities, and recreational reading. Children also take part in instructional swimming one day per week and in weekly field trips to nature centers, museums and local events.
  • ADVENTURE CAMP (Ages 9-11) Campers participate in a wide range of sports, instructional swimming, mini trips, arts & crafts, weekly themed days, environmental science and more. Our recreational reading component is designed to help campers sharpen their reading skills throughout the summer months.

SPORTS CAMP (Ages 7-9; 10-12)
Campers will learn the rules to various sports and practice their techniques in mini games. In addition, they will learn about team work, sportsmanship and motivating each other to succeed. Campers will also engage in sports-themed activities as well as trips and arts & crafts.

PROGRESSIVE SWIM CAMP (Ages 7-9; 10-12)
The Y is a leader in youth swim and has helped generations of children become outstanding swimmers. For all levels of swimmers, campers are grouped according to skill proficiency and mastery with instruction 4 days per week. Children also participate in group games, environmental studies, arts & crafts, nutrition & exercise, and trips.

TEEN CAMP (Ages 12-14)
This camp provides a safe, fun environment where teens are able to make new friends, learn more about themselves, and work on exciting projects helping teens become tomorrow’s leaders. Activities include organized sports, swimming, leadership training, arts & crafts, community service and many interesting trips.

SPECIAL NEEDS CAMP (Ages 5-12)

  • LISA BETH GERSTMAN CAMP (Jul 15 - Aug 2)
    Special needs children will have the opportunity to experience summer camp activities which include swimming, trips and arts & crafts. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to participate in a safe, caring and fun learning environment.
