Day Camp at McBurney YMCA

YMCA CAMP. WHERE KIDS GO TO GROW.
We offer a variety day camp programs for youth. The McBurney YMCA Summer Day Camp operates out of PS 41 located at 116 West 11th Street, New York, NY 10011. We also use the pool and gym at the McBurney Y for swimming and sports. Check out a typical day at camp.
All campers must pre-register to attend camp by completing camp forms and paying a deposit for each session of camp.

TRADITIONAL CAMP

CHELSEA CAMP (Ages 4 – 10) Campers participate in swimming, crafts, group games, weekly excursions to museums, parks and other exciting venues. As a part of Chelsea Camp, campers learn how to develop long-lasting friendships and build solid social skills.

LEADERS CAMP (Ages 10 – 12) Kids will explore, play, learn about themselves, and get Counselor in Training experiences. Campers build long-lasting friendships while participating in swimming, crafts, group games, weekly field trips to exciting venues.

SPORTS CAMP

MULTI-SPORTS CAMP (Ages 8 – 12) This is the camp of choice for kids who want to spend the summer running, jumping, playing, and learning. Our progressive curriculum enhances various sport skills and fundamentals. Campers will also participate in crafts, fieldtrips, and swimming.

BASKETBALL CAMP (Ages 8 – 12) Learn all aspects of basketball through skill-building, full court games, and activities focused on teamwork and sportsmanship. In addition to becoming basketball superstars, campers will also participate in crafts, fieldtrips, and swimming.

SOCCER CAMP (Ages 8 – 12) GOAL! Spend the summer immersed in the sport of soccer through skill building, games, and activities focused on teamwork and sportsmanship. In addition to becoming soccer superstars, campers will also participate in traditional camp activities such as crafts, fieldtrips, and swimming.

ARTS AND SCIENCE CAMPS

MIXED MEDIA ARTS CAMP (Ages 8 – 12) This camp will explore drawing, painting, and sculpture. Campers will stretch their imagination by making pieces using found objects and transforming spaces using installation art. Campers will also participate in crafts, field trips, and swimming.

SCIENCE CAMP (Ages 5 – 8) At Science Camp, campers will learn about the wonders of science through hands on activities, games, and trips. Beware: Science Camp is surprising, inspiring, and sometimes dirty! Campers will also participate in crafts, field trips, and swimming.

CIRCUS ARTS CAMP (Ages 5 – 7) This camp is an exciting adventure into the world of tumbling, gymnastics, and performance arts. This is not your typical clown school. At the end of the session, campers will host a showcase for family and friends. Campers will also participate in crafts, field trips, and swimming.

TEEN CAMP

COUNSELOR–IN-TRAINING (CIT) (Ages 13 – 17) Our CIT program is for tomorrow’s leaders. Teens gain job readiness skills and work experience by working alongside experienced staff. CITs receive training in program safety and working with youth.
