Day Camp at Long Island City YMCA

YMCA CAMP. WHERE KIDS GO TO GROW.
We offer a variety day camp programs for youth. Programs are offered at the Long Island City Y, located 32-23 Queens Boulevard, Long Island City, NY.
All campers must pre-register to attend camp by completing camp forms and paying a deposit for each week of camp.

TRADITIONAL CAMP
-
KINDER CAMP (Ages 3 – 4) Kinder Camp gives preschoolers the chance to explore, socialize, learn and enjoy activities and events. Kinder Camp’s curriculum focuses on problem solving, moral judgement, healthy eating, physical fitness, and personal expression.

EXPRESS CAMP (Ages 5 – 8) Campers participate in swimming, arts and crafts, health and fitness, group games and weekly excursions to museums, playgrounds and cultural events. Campers learn how to develop long-lasting friendships and build solid social skills.

ADVENTURE CAMP (Ages 9 – 11) Campers participate in a wide range of sports, instructional swimming, mini trips, arts and crafts, weekly themed days, environmental science and more. To facilitate academic success our recreational reading component is designed to help kids sharpen their reading skills throughout the summer months.

SPORTS CAMP

SPORTS CAMP (Ages 9 – 14) Campers will learn the rules of each game while practicing their techniques in mini games. In addition, they will learn about team work, sportsmanship, and motivating each other to succeed. Campers participate in the Junior Mets program and get a chance to meet professional athletes throughout the summer.

TEEN CAMPS

MOVIN' ON CAMP (Ages 12-14) Movin’ On Camp helps pre-teens and teens develop social skills and leadership ability while having loads of fun. Teens are encouraged to choose their activities, including swimming, sports, reading, trips and group games. Leadership development activities teach youth to make a positive impact in their neighborhood.

COUNSELORS IN TRAINING CAMP (Ages 15-16) This camp is designed for tomorrow’s leaders that are interested in being a camp counselor someday. The program will provide hands-on learning allowing teens to slowly work into responsible roles leading children and developing their communication and organization skills.
