In 1995, bai launched the Corporate Scholarship Program to provide direct support to motivated New York City high school students pursuing post-secondary education. To date, the Harlem Y has awarded 361 scholarships, equating to over $1.7M in funds to supplement education costs of future leaders. Thanks to our corporate partners, an average of 50 scholarships are awarded annually.
All New York City college-bound high school seniors and previous scholarship recipients currently in their freshman, sophomore and junior years of study, who meet the criteria listed below, are eligible to apply for the bai Corporate Scholarship. Students with an expressed interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Business/Finance are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Reside within the five boroughs of New York City
- Possess a minimum 2.5 GPA
- Be a current high school senior
Candidates must submit:
- Two essays
- One letter of recommendation
- Official transcript
- Professional photo
Deadline for submission is January 31, 2018. Winners will be notified in mid-February and officially recognized on March 15, 2018, at the 48th Annual bai Gala held at Cipriani Broadway. Applications are available for three populations. Download the appropriate application for submission:
