bai Annual Gala

Each year hundreds of community and business leaders join the Harlem YMCA to honor the achievements of black professionals. Since 1971, this annual event has paid national tribute to the corporate leadership and community service of black achievers in industry and continues to serve as a vehicle for the Harlem YMCA, corporations, and local organizations to partner and provide mentoring programs, scholarships, and other opportunities. These collective efforts fuel a future-leader incubator for the youth and teens of the Harlem community.

“Black Achievers in Industry is a vital program that encompasses youth mentoring programs, college scholarships, a historically black college tour, corporate internships and year-long community outreach,” says Tiffeny Forrest, Executive Director of the Harlem YMCA. “This annual gala affords all of our community stakeholders with the opportunity to come together to celebrate their accomplishments and inspire the next generation of leaders.”

The Harlem YMCA will host the 45th Annual National Salute to Black Achievers in Industry (bai) Awards Ceremony on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel.  The gala—which in the past has attracted luminaries like Oprah Winfrey—is a major date on NYC’s business, philanthropic, education, and social calendars. The event pays national tribute to excellence in corporate leadership and community service by black achievers in industry and serves as a platform for the Harlem YMCA, corporations, and local organizations to partner and provide mentoring programs, scholarships, and other opportunities. These collective efforts are helping the young people of New York City’s Harlem community grow to be tomorrow’s leaders.
