Aquatics Classes
Fees Members: $110 Program Members: $190
Adult Beginner - Adults in this class have little or no
experience in the water. They cannot swim a body length,
float or swim on their front/back and /or feel comfortable
putting their face in the water. Students learn front and
back float, recovery from swimming/floating, proper
kicking technique, breathing, swimming arm and leg
coordination, basic backstroke and some comfort in the
deep water.

Adult Intermediate - Adults will learn the form for
freestyle, side breathing coordination, backstroke, able to
switch from freestyle to backstroke without touching the
floor, treading water, swim 25 yards without stoppingusing
freestyle and backstroke. Prerequisites: Able to swim 15
yards with face in the water, breathing, float/kick on back,
somewhatcomfortable in the deep end.

Adult Advanced - Adults will develop endurance,
freestyle and backstroke form, breaststroke with glide,
butterfly.Prerequisites: Able to swim 25 yards on front and
back with good form, basic knowledge of other strokes,
tread water with confidence.

Pikes - Perfect level for children who are non-swimmers.
Your child will learn basic strokes, kicking skills, pool
safety, proper use of Flotation Devices, holding their face
in the water while blowing bubles and swimming.

Eels - This advanced beginner level reinforces Pike skills.
This level is designed for children who are comfortable in
the water. Your child will learn to flutter kick, dive, float,
and perform progressive paddle stroke. Children can swim
across the pool without assistance by the end of this
level. Pre-requisite: Pikes

Rays - At this level, children review previous skills,
improve stroke skills, learn more personal, safety, rescue
skills, build endurance by swimming on their front and
back, learn to tread water and perform more progressive
diving skills. Children can swim across the pool on their
front and back without assistance bythe end of this level.

Starfish - Children at this level review previously learned
skills and refine their strokes, personal safety, rescue, and
floating skills. They also learn underwater swimming skills.

back at the end of this level. Pre-requisite: Rays

Super Minnies - Children at this level review previuosly
learned skills and refine their strokes, personal safety,
rescue, and floating skills. They also learn underwater
swimming skills. children can swim the of the pool on their
front and back at the end of this level. Need Approval
from Aquatics Coordinator.

Polliwog I - Designed for the beginner swimmer. Students
will become more comfortable with putting their
faces in the water. They will also learn kicks, arm motions,
floating and basic water-safety

Polliwog II - Builds on the skills introduced in Polliwog I
children will become more comfortable with their floats on
their front and their back and be able to paddle stroke on
their front, side and back. Pre-requisite: Polliwog I

Guppy I (Goldfish) - Designed for intermediate beginner,
this class is held in the deep water. Children need to
be able to swim with their faces in the water and float
comfortably on their backs. Students will be introduced to
backstroke, sidestroke, and rotary breathing. The ability
to tread water for one minute is required. Pre-requisite:
Polliwog II

Guppy II - This class is designed for the advanced
beginner. Class is held in the deep water. Students need
to have good front crawl and backstroke form. Swimmers
will learn proper techinques which will be used in lap
swimming environment. Breaststroke arm motion will be
introduced. Pre-requisite: Guppy

Minnow - Minnows must be able to swim front crawl
with rotary breathing and tread water for 1 minute. They
will need to be ready to swim 4-6 laps without stopping.
Students are also introduced to breaststroke and scissor
kick. Pre-requisite: Guppy II

Fish - Swimmers must have a goood front crawl, backstroke,
elementary backstroke, and breaststroke and be
ready to learn dolphin kick. They must be able to tread
water for 3 minutes and swim 6-12 laps without stopping.

Flying Fish - Swimmers must have good front crawl with
rotary breathing, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.
Students need to tread water for 6 minutes and swim 10-
15 laps without stopping. They will be introduced to lifesaving
strokes, and backstroke flip turns. Pre-requisite:Fish

Shark - Swimmers must have excellent front crawl and
backstroke. Students should demonstrate coordination
in breaststroke and butterfly as well as be able to tread
water for 6 minutes, perform a 200 yard I.M. and swim
15+ laps. They must be ready to polish strokes and turns.
Pre-requisite: Flying Fish

Porpoise Club - The Most advanced level of swimming
for strong swimmers mature enough to handle extended
swimming workouts. Students will begin preparation for
swim team, including workouts using the pace clock and
starting blocks. Registration for this class is by invitation
only.

Teen Beginner - This class is designed for the beginner
swimmer who needs to build confidence in the water. This class
teaches basic swimming concepts to be able to progress to the
deep water. Ratio 1:10

Teen Intermediate - This class is designed for the swimmer
that is able to swim one lap of front crawl and one lap of back
crawl. This class will work on perfecting front crawl and introduce
breaststroke. Ratio 1:10
