Train with the best at the National Gymnastics Training Camp!
Each summer, this internationally-recognized training camp offers gymnasts the opportunity to develop skills and strengthen abilities. Led by Jim Hayes, Assistant Coach at Brown University and USAG member, we provide the ideal venue for dedicated campers to grow into champions. Coaching staff also includes Jen Najuch, head coach at Springfield College, Doug Byrne of Hamline University, and athletes from Brown University, University of Bridgeport and University of New Hampshire.
Facilities include a 16,000 square foot training space, first class vault and beam stations complete with foam pit, competition bars (one with trench) and two full exercise floors. A 7-to-1 gymnast to coach ratio ensures that each athlete receives valuable individual attention and instruction. And to ensure the health and safety of our athletes, we have a licensed athletic trainer and around-the-clock medical staff onsite.
Upon arrival, gymnasts are individually evaluated by our world-class coaching staff and receive a personal training regimen. Each day consists of morning and afternoon training sessions, with a 2-hour optional workout time in the evening. Gymnasts rotate between the four Olympic events: vault, bar, balance beam and floor/tumbling. Dance is also included.
Of course, there’s plenty of time set aside to enjoy our beautiful thousand-acre camp! Gymnasts can swim in our lakes, go on a horseback ride, hike through the woods, be creative with arts and crafts, try their luck at fishing and more. All activities are facilitated by our professionally trained camp staff.
Best of all, the YMCA teaches all of our campers to be responsible, caring, honest, and respectful people – values to share with family, friends and everyone.
I’d love to go! What do I need to know?
