Revelers kicked up their heels at YMCA’s Dine ‘N Dance at Hilton

Nicotra's Ballroom in the Hilton Garden Inn provided the perfect backdrop for the YMCA's Dine 'N Dance event March 13, where more than 250 revelers partied heartily for the age old organization whose mission is to never turn anyone away due to an inability to pay. Proceeds from the evening will help support local children and families by providing them with free youth memberships and scholarship funds for YMCA programs such a summer day camp. Read more…

Jamaica JAMS! Even when it rains

Despite sometimes heavy rain, the 18th annual Jamaica Arts & Music Summer Festival, fondly known as JAMS, took place Aug. 1 and 2, in Rufus King Park and along Jamaica Avenue. Thousands of residents and visitors lined up to purchase such tasty culinary treats as grilled corn, meats and candy apples, and sipped soft drinks and lemonade as they perused the stalls of the numerous vendors who displayed their enticing bargains.
