Martial arts helps kids and teens develop fitness, focus, self-discipline and socilization skills. The Y offers a variety of martial arts programs including:

  • Capoiera - a Brazilian martial art combining elements of dance and music
  • Karate - a Japanese art of self-defense employing hand strikes and kicks
  • Judo - an Olympic sport utilizing quick movements and leverage to bring an opponent to the ground
  • Self Defense - the art of learning to defend oneself against a physical attack
  • Tae Kwon Do - a Korean martial art that utilizes punches, jabs, chops, and blocking
