Our Little Picasso Class covers six basic art areas: collage, painting, clay, drawing, printmaking, and construction. The children experience the art materials at their own pace. Our instructors use materials that are satisfying to the eye and stimulating to the touch. The program often begins with two-dimensional work, such as painting and collage and then expands into three dimensional work, such as wood or clay. The instructor's philsophy is that it is the process, not the finished product that is important when tapping into the child's creative spirit. In this class, we have fun with art for 45 minutes and then finish up the hour with lively stories, singing or dancing! Program is offered at the McBurney and Ridgewood YMCAs.Find a Class
